Blythe Noreiga: use green (food coloring) coconut for the grass. to distinguish between the cut and uncut, use coconut that has been beat up in the food processor for the "cut" grass.
Tyrone Disanti: I would decorate the cake with "uncut grass" first and then take a fork or whatever utensil you have handy and scrape the grass to make it look cut. This sounds like a cute idea and I would love to see pictures once it is done! Good luck with your cake.
