How do you guys wash your laundry?

Roosevelt Pendill: I use liquid laundry soap, and I start the water running in the empty washer while I add soap. Then I add my clothes, towels, sheets, whatever it is I'm washing to the machine while it finishes filling. I only spot pre-treat stains so I don't worry about soaking things, but if there's something with a spot that I'm concerned about whether it came out in the wash or not, I check it before I put it in the dryer. Sometimes even hanging it to dry to make sure the spot came out, because heat from the dryer will set stains. Also, I was pretty much everything in cold water unless I'm bleaching an all-white load, then I use warm water. Cold water keeps colors from fading as quickly as warm, and saves me quite a bit on my energy bills too....Show more

Brittney Inabnit: I like the liquid soap. I only pre-treat not soak clothing that got a stain. I have kids so when their clothes are stink from sweat I add a little febreeze.

Fritz Sisomphou: I use! liquid because I have an HE washer. Either will do the trick. There is just less dust with the liquid. I pre-treat stains with spray and wash. I also put a scoop of oxiclean in every load along with the liquid soap. You can reduce the amount of soap by half doing this. Also, if you have hard water, you can put a scoop of culligan water softener powder in the load. It does make a huge difference. I use 1/2 cup bleach loads of white towels, washcloths and sheets to remove bacteria....Show more
