Is Pleasure a form of Beauty?

Truman Biby: Yes, when we use our "senses" the world and universe is full of pleasure and therefor beauty. "We have to go out of our mind to come to our senses."

Coleman Ocegueda: Pleasure serves the self in actuality. Beauty serves the self in potentiality.

Christy Tirabassi: Beauty is subjective, since it is based on what we consider to be pleasurable. Two people may think a third person different in terms of beauty, or what they find pleasurable to look upon. Thomas may be indicating that we can individually rely on our own feeling as a measurement of what "we" find beautiful, and together may come to a consensus. However, it is no standard to say that pleasure is beauty; not at all. Beauty when perceived pleases; so beauty can be considered pleasurABLE. However, we may experience a sense of pleasure from things in our life that are not necessarily tied to beauty.Things like a fire on a chilly night, or the warmth of a good friend's hug at a time of diff! iculty may be considered a pleasure and they do not rely on being beautiful, necessarily. We enjoy them for what they are and what they add to our life. Kind of like comforts in a way. So maybe it may be more accurate to say that comfort brings pleasure more so than being beautiful.Blessings!...Show more

Loriann Carrigan: Pleasure serves the self in actuality. Beauty serves the self in potentiality.

Penelope Armond: Beauty is the subject, pleasure is the experience of the subject. They aren't the same, but they are closely connected.
